Colonel Mahip Chadha A graduate of the Indian Military Academy, Colonel Chadha served in the Indian Army for nearly 34 years. He was commissioned into the Third Gorkha Rifles—his inspiration for the novel. Colonel Chadha is the author of GRIT GUTS and GALLANTRY-which motivates the youth of India to consider the Army as a viable career option. It is the only Counselor for children desirous of making the Defence Services into a career option He also wrote a novel titled SOLJER SOLJER in which he describes life in the infantry. His third novel is GIN and LIME WHISKEY or WINE? Which deals with issues of the veterans!His fourt novel was HE ME and SHE which describes his life with his two servants. He is currently writing RUM & COCA COLA the sequel to HE ME and SHE!
Colonel Mahip Chadha, joined The Second Battalion The Third Gorkha Rifles on 25 Dec 1966; which is one of the Indian Army’s finest battalions. This unit returned to India, after the country attained Independence, winning many laurels. It is known as Second Third or affectionately as the VC Paltan because it won the first two Victoria Crosses in WW I. It is ironic that Pakistan chose one of its Commanding officers, Sir Douglas Gracey, hero of the Admin Box in the Burma Campaign, to be its Commander in Chief!
